Why We're Buying
Few Rhône white blends reach the stature of "investment-worthy." Domaine de la Janasse Châteauneuf-du-Pape Prestige is one of those few. It has Burgundian characteristics with prominent minerality and a firm structure while providing a uniquely forceful finish. Investor interest in this grenache blanc-clairette blanche wine has spiked recently, with the price vaulting 14.4 in 2020.
Critics Scores

The flagship white from this incredible estate is a more Roussanne-dominated blend that also includes Grenache Blanc and Clairette, brought up in used demi-muids. The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Prestige Blanc will certainly be one of the whites of the vintage. It reveals a medium gold hue as well as a killer nose of caramelized pineapple, ripe white peach, white flowers, salty minerality, and a touch of toasty barrique. With full-bodied richness, a grand cru Burgundy-like texture, no hard edges, and a monster of a finish, this serious, opulent, powerful white will benefit from a year in bottle and drink nicely for 15-20 years or more.
