Why We're Buying
The Roagna portfolio is headlined by Barbaresco Crichët Pajé cuvée, one of the most expensive wines in Italy. The nebbiolo ages for eight years before its release, capturing the full expression of the grapes. The result: an internationally acclaimed wine that costs more than $800 per bottle, a price that's almost doubled from 2017 to 2021.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2001 Barbaresco Crichet Paje comes across as very young, but then again it was only bottled August 2010! Freshly cut flowers, licorice and mint are some of the notes that flow from this vibrant, perfumed Barbaresco. The 2001 fleshes out beautifully in the glass. It is a towering wine that can be enjoyed within the next few years, but ideally it is best left alone for as long as readers can be patient. This is a fabulous showing from Luca Roagna.
