Why We're Buying
Georges Noëllat Vosne-Romanée hails from the Champs Perdrix climat, positioned just above Aux Reignots. The terroir is known for its continental climate and shallow, well-drained soil, contributing to substantial ripeness and depth. Wine critic Allen Meadows praised the pinot noir in 2015 for "lovely delineation and verve to the lighter weight, delicious and attractively textured flavors"
Critics Scores
Burghound.com
A discreetly spicy nose features attractive notes of tea, violet, red pinot and a whiff of sandalwood. There is equally good density to the more refined medium weight flavors that possess a velvety texture that carries over the lingering and balanced finish. This moderately firm effort is very Vosne-like in character.
Vinous
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village has quite a feisty nose, perhaps with just a touch of VA at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, a little metallic on the entry, sinewy and quite grippy, though I would be seeking more finesse on the finish once bottled.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village offers up a pretty bouquet of sweet berries, plums and candied peel, deftly framed by spicy new oak. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with succulent acids and a nicely defined finish. It's a charming wine that will drink well on release.
