Why We're Buying
The Domaine Combier Crozes-Hermitage Clos des Grives is a charming and fruity syrah from the largest appellation in Northern Rhône. Crozes-Hermitage has low-sloping vineyards with rich soil that adds an almost seductive quality to red wine. While most syrahs work best for immediate enjoyment, you can cellar this one for up to a decade.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
From 50-year-old vines in Pont de l'Isère, the 2017 Crozes Hermitage Clos des Grives offers up scents of black tea, mocha and ripe plums. It's full-bodied, plush and supple on the palate, showing ample concentration and length on the long, mouthwatering finish. It's a terrific Syrah, approachable now and capable of drinking well for at least another 6-7 years.
