Why We're Buying

“Extravagantly rich.” “Utterly seamless.” “Voluptuously textured.” These are just a few of the phrases used to describe M. Chapoutier Les Greffieux. The dynamic cuvée is flawless out of the bottle and comes with a 30+ year aging potential. Wine critic Jeb Dunnuck called the 2006 vintage "the finest wine I have ever tasted from Les Greffieux.”

Offers a mouthfilling, brambly feel, with dark plum, steeped blackberry and mulled boysenberry fruit at the core, backed by anise, singed mesquite and black tea notes that give the finish a perfumy caste. Has depth and power but stays remarkably refined. Best from 2016 through 2030. – JM
