2013 memento mori, cabernet sauvignon, napa valley
Why We're Buying
Cabernet sauvignon is the defining wine of Napa Valley. Memento Mori is one of the reasons why. The full-bodied white wine delivers a bouquet of fruit flavors and unwavering intensity. Wine critic Robert Parker described the 2013 vintage as “the wine (is) irresistible already. Drink it over the next 30 years.” Memento Mori Cabernet Sauvignon ranks in the 80th percentile for most expensive Napa Valley reds.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Winemaker and proprietor Sam Kaplan is behind this absolutely brilliant 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is a composite blend from three famous Napa vineyards B Weitz, Las Piedras, and Dr. Crane, the last two owned by the ubiquitous and omnipresent Andy Beckstoffer. A wine of great intensity, voluptuous, full-bodied texture, tremendous blueberry and blackberry fruit, with white flowers, charcoal embers and spice, the wine has superb texture, a multi-dimensional mouthfeel, and a finish that goes on for close to 50 seconds. The tannins are creamy and ripe, and the wine irresistible already. This is brilliant! (RP)
