Great wine comes from great vineyards. Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru benefits from its roots in the highest-caliber plot in Burgundy. The terroir contributes to a well-structured pinot noir with punchy fruit flavors and balanced sugar levels. From 2017 to 2021, this red wine appreciated 38.9.
Critics Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There are seven barrels of the 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru this year including two-thirds whole bunch fruit (50 new oak). It has a wonderful bouquet, so elegant and refined without shortchanging you on ebullient red fruit. The energy here is palpable. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, quite tightly wound at the moment, saline with a subtle marine influence toward the finish. I found this grand cru mercurial in the glass, changing as its aerates, developing more body and more spiciness. One to watch!
Vinous
The 2016 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very well defined bouquet with ebullient red plum, cranberry and earthy aromas, very well defined and focused. The oak is wonderfully integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, vivid red berry fruit and captivating mineralite. You can really feel the limestone soils percolating through the structure of this wine. Pure class. Tres Ruchottes. Chapeau! Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
