2007 andelmonde, the standish wine company, barossa valley
Why We're Buying
Universal critical acclaim. Intense, concentrated flavors. Long aging potential. Andelmonde The Standish has all the components of an investment-grade wine. Already one of the highest-priced shirazes in the Barossa Valley, demand for The Standish has only surged in recent years.
Inky violet. Vibrant red and dark berry aromas are complicated by notes of dried lavender, violet and sandalwood. Palate-staining dark berry flavors show liqueur-like depth and are brightened by a dusty mineral quality. Very rich but also lively, with a strong blast of raspberry and lavender on the long, spicy finish. I really like this wine’s marriage of power and vivacity.
