Why We're Buying
There's something magical about the Mindel gravel and sandy-clay subsoil at Château Léoville Poyferré. It produces an intoxicating combination of massive, concentrated flavors along with ultra-silky tannins and multi-layered complexity. It's why this highly acclaimed red blend has received multiple 100-point ratings from wine critic Robert Parker.

Wine Enthusiast
The completeness of 2001, with its miraculous balance, is present in this wine. The acidity, ripe blackcurrants sit comfortably on top of dry tannins, the fleshiness of the fruit taking the edge off the tannins. It seems to bring out the structure, the fruit and the refreshing acidity of great Cabernet.
