Laurent Ponsot: Viticulture and Winemaking

In 2008, as the head of Domaine Ponsot, Laurent Ponsot famously interrupted a New York auction when he spotted a fake lot. One of the lots was a 1945 Domaine Ponsot Clos St Denis - a vineyard from which the domaine made its first bottling in 1982. 

After a lengthy investigation, Ponsot and the FBI uncovered a massive wine fraud, leading to a 10-year prison sentence for the perpetrator - Rudy Kurniawan. 

Finally, in 2017, Laurent left Domaine Ponsot to start a new venture with his son, Clement.
