Why We're Buying
The Château Duhart-Milon grand vin is considered the archetype for Pauillac wine. It's robust, forward, and beautiful. It doesn't hurt that the estate is managed by Charles Chevallier, who also oversees the operations at the legendary Château Lafite Rothschild.

The character of this wine, a straight line of tannins and black currant fruit flavors, is the model of a classic Pauillac. It has all the structure as well as some austerity and severity at this stage in its development. But the fruit texture is rich enough, dried fruits and spice followed by licorice and bitter chocolate. Age for five years at least.

Offers dried currant on the nose, with herbal undertones. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a medium finish. Best after 2013. 23,665 cases made.
