Why We're Buying
Poderi Aldo Conterno Granbussia is a titan in the world of Barolo. This pricey nebbiolo earned a 100-point rating from wine critic James Suckling in 2008, who called it, "Perfect now and it will improve with age for decades ahead." Poderi Aldo Conterno Granbussia also returned 73.8 on investment from 2017 to 2021, leading investors to clamor for the 3,000 or so annual bottles that the estate releases.

Wine Spectator
Alluring aromas of cherry, plum, sandalwood, rose and wild herbs highlight this expressive red. Deceptive, starting out elegant, until the dense weave of tannins emerges on the long, mineral-tinged finish. Best from 2022 through 2045.
James Suckling
Glorious aromas of roses and other flowers with blackberries and ripe plums. Spectacular. Perfection. Full-bodied, firm and chewy with polished and tight tannins. Slightly dusty. Great length and beauty. Very, very persistent on the palate. Needs another two or three years to soften, but already a classic.
