Chianti is Ruffino’s most historically significant red wine that strives to be the “ideal wine,” as described by the winery founders Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino.

This Chianti Ruffino wine is produced with 70% Sangiovese grapes and other red grapes like Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, allowed under the Chianti DOCG guidelines.

The Ruffino Chianti is best served at 16oC-18°C with beef carpaccio, roasted chicken, and tartare.

2. Ruffino Chianti Bio

It’s an organic Ruffino wine produced with biodynamically grown Sangiovese grapes.

A Brief History Of The Ruffino Winery

Ruffino Winery

The Ruffino winery was established in 1877 in Pontassieve, near Florence, Italy, by two cousins Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino. Ruffino’s production philosophy was based on two concepts - quality and expression of the Chianti terroir.

Ruffino established itself as a synonym of the best Italian wine in the Chianti region of Tuscany in the 1950s-60s.

Its Riserva Ducale put Italian wines on the world map and Ruffino became the first winery to receive the new Chianti DOCG label.

In 2011, Tenimenti Ruffino winery became a part of Constellation Brands, an American market leader in the spirits sector, further strengthening its stance in the international wine market.

Today, Ruffino has its presence in over 85 countries and is a beacon of great wines ”made in Italy.”
