About This Wine
Pol Roger has long been a pillar of the Champagne community. It’s one of the few remaining family-owned grand marques, a title bestowed on only the most highly regarded Champagne producers. The flagship cuvée was made for the UK’s Champagne-loving prime minister, who once said of the bubbly beverage, “in victory I deserve it, and in defeat I need it!". The 2015 Pol Roger Winston Churchill contains 60% pinot noir and 40% chardonnay. Even in youth, this brut vintage demonstrates a generous body with fragrances of apples, orange zest, brioche, chalk, and delicate mousse. Critics have compared it to the concentrated 1985 and 2012 vintages. Expect this refined Champagne to only gain complexity and depth over the next two decades. The Final Sip: If this brut vintage Champagne is good enough for Winston Churchill, chances are it’s good enough for your portfolio, too.
