About This Wine
Château d’Yquem is the only estate with a superior first growth classification and with good reason. The hallowed château has perfected the art of “noble rot,” a botrytis-induced state that contributes to highly aromatic and acidic sauvignon blanc. It’s one of the reasons why a vertical of Château d’Yquem once sold for a staggering $1.5 million at auction. The 2020 vintage features a blend of 75% sémillion and 25% sauvignon blanc. Harsh growing conditions resulted in yields one-third the size of the previous year, making the number of cases produced exceptionally small.
