Was 2016 a Good Year For Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon?

Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon

The years prior to 2016 had been affected by a long-standing drought. But this drought spell was broken by intense winter showers in 2016.

Even during the summer season, the average temperature was lower than usual. These cool weather conditions in the vineyard produced grapes with enhanced tannin levels and flavor balance.

The favorable climate continued throughout the harvesting period in September and early October.

In the cellar, every grape was carefully de-stemmed and then fermented in oak barrels.

Tasting trials were conducted on a routine basis for over 17 months. Ultimately, the winery released an impressive vintage of Cabernet Sauvignon that was globally recognized for its exquisite taste.
