Chateau Suduiraut Vineyard and Winemaking

Chateau-Suduiraut-3.jpg

Chateau Suduiraut encompasses 90 acres of vineyard lands, planted with 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc grape varieties. The great vineyard terroir consists of gravel, sand, limestone, and clay soils.

The Gironde winegrowing area provides ideal conditions for the development of noble rot (Botrytis Cinerea fungus.) The botrytis gives the grapes an abundance of aromas and more concentrated flavors.

The harvest is done in successive phases to ensure that all the bunches develop optimum levels of noble rot.

The vinification of Suduiraut wine takes place in French oak barrels. It’s then aged on its lees in 50% new French oak barrels for about 18-24 months.
