While James Bond may have favored the classic Taittinger Champagne, the winery’s sparkling Rose is equally compelling and sophisticated.

Beloved for its vibrant fruit notes and complex floral aromas, Taittinger Rose is perfect for both your regular nights out and special occasions.

Let’s explore all about the different Taittinger Rose wine styles and their flavors, the best food to pair with them, and some interesting facts about the Taittinger Champagne house.

Taittinger Rose Wine Styles, Best Bottles to Buy, and Flavors

Here are the four distinct styles of Taittinger Rose, the finest bottles available today, and their characteristics.

  1. Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Brut Rose
  2. Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé
  3. Taittinger Nocturne Sec Rose
  4. Irroy Carte Rose Brut

1. Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Brut Rosé

This 100% Grand Cru Comtes de Champagne Rosé is a blend of Chardonnay grapes from the prestigious Cote des Blancs vineyards and Pinot Noir grapes from Montagne de Reims.

To maintain the wine’s structure and aging potential, it is made from the first pressed juice (extracted soon after harvest in the vineyard press houses.)

Comtes de Champagne Rose is a medium red-hued sparkling wine with intense notes of crisp orchard fruit and red berries, offset by addictive red fruit crumble and cherry aromas.

The 2008 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Brut Rose ($251) is an exceptional Rose wine to try today.

2. Taittinger Brut Prestige Rosé

The brut Taittinger Prestige Rosé is a refreshing blend of Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir (35%), and Pinot Meunier (25%) grapes. The berries undergo cool fermentation.

85% of the blend is vinified as white wine and the rest as red wine. The signature pink color comes from the small amount of still Pinot Noir red wine (from the Les Riceys and Montagne de Reims regions) added to the blend.

Taittinger Prestige Rose goes through a second fermentation in the bottle and is left on the lees for three years.

This cherry pink Champagne offers crisp acidity with persistent bubbles and a lengthy finish. It presents a bouquet of raspberry preserves, brioche, with lingering spiciness, and exquisite notes of fresh crisp red fruits, plums, and lime.

If you’re looking for a refreshing dry sparkling wine with intense vibrancy, the Taittinger Brut Prestige Rose ($64) could be a great choice.

3. Taittinger Nocturne Sec Rose

This is an off-dry Champagne blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes from 30 villages. While similar in style to the Prestige Rose, it contains a dosage of 17.5 g/l of sugar and offers a slightly sweeter palate with silky tannins.

It is a full-bodied Rose wine with balanced acidity and a long finish. On opening, it exudes beautiful aromas of plums, cooked apples with delicious flavors of freshly crushed wild raspberry, red berries, and lingering spiciness.

The Taittinger Nocturne Sec Rose ($62) is a great Rosé Champagne and is an ideal pick if you crave a sweet, creamy bubbly.

4. Irroy Carte Rose Brut

The Irroy Carte Rose Brut is a dry Champagne in the Taittinger portfolio made from 80% Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, and 30% Chardonnay grapes.

The wine, cellared for at least 30 months, has a magnificent white flower and brioche aroma bouquet, accompanied by subtle strawberry undertones. Its robust palate of fresh crisp red fruits, minerals, and crushed raspberries complement the heady aromas.

The Irroy Carte Rose Brut ($38) is an excellent Rosé Champagne to try for its refreshing mouthfeel and intense vibrancy.
