Benoit Touquette was born in Lyon and while growing up he dreamt of becoming a pilot or an engineer.

Little did he know that working on mobile bottling lines for numerous Bordeaux wineries would be the launchpad for his rapid success as a winemaker in the North Coast AVA of the United States.

Benoit graduated with a Master’s diploma in Chemistry and Oenology from the University of Bordeaux. After that, he started working for his mentor and friend Michel Rolland in South Africa.

Rolland later introduced him to long-time Napa Valley specialist Andy Erickson.

After arriving in the United States, Benoit offered to help his friend and founder of Realm Cellars, Juan Mercado. It soon became a full-time gig that led to his first wine, Fait Main, blended from vineyards in Yountville and St Helena.

Benoit Touquette established his name with the launch of Teeter Totter. Since then, his wines have garnered the attention of legendary wine critics like Robert Parker and Jeb Dunnuck and have regularly scored 90+ points.
