2010 chateau la gaffeliere premier grand cru classe b, saint-emilion grand cru
Why We're Buying
Château La Gaffelière (St. Émilion Premier Grand Cru) is one of the oldest, family-owned vineyards on the Right Bank, going back to the 15th century. The wine estate is also getting better with age. Its flagship merlot-dominant blend earned its highest-ever rating on Wine-Searcher.com in 2019.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Deep garnet colored, the 2010 La Gaffeliere is quite closed to begin, slowly unfurling to give scents of baked raspberries, kirsch, dried mulberries and plum pudding plus nuances of pencil shavings and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate layers in the savory and earthy flavors with a firm frame of chewy tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing with an herbal lift.
