Why We're Buying
While Château Lafleur doesn't have a classification, it consistently ranked among Bordeaux's most prestigious estates. Les Pensées de Lafleur is a second wine, known as an "insider's secret." Château Lafleur only released 750 bottles of this merlot-cabernet franc blend per year, with investors paying more than $150 per bottle.
Critics Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The second wine, the 2012 Les Pensees de Lafleur (about one-half the entire production), is a blend of 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc. It is a mid-weight, delicate wine displaying hints of sweet cherries, plums, licorice, wet gravel and earth. This supple, medium-bodied, pleasant offering should easily drink well for 10-15+ years. 87-89 Points
James Suckling
Subtle aromas of chocolate, berries and walnuts. Peach stones, too. Full-bodied, chewy and tangy. Clay and orange peel undertones. A little austere. This needs three to four years to soften. Better in 2017.
