2018 charles van canneyt, chambertin grand cru
Why We're Buying
Spiced. Aromatic. Earthy. Charles van Canneyt Le Chambertin Grand Cru has all the makings of a classic Le Chambertin wine. The pinot noir matures in French oak barrels, giving those characteristics time to evolve. From 2019 to 2021, it appreciated 18.1% and currently retails north of $400 per bottle.
The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru has a classy bouquet of well defined blackberry and raspberry fruit, cedar and light sous-bois aromas. The cohesive palate is medium-bodied with refined tannins and a fine bead of acidity, and a touch of spice toward the finish. This is a supremely well crafted Chambertin that will give up to two decades of drinking pleasure.
