Very intense black purple, the bouquet has gone to sleep as the cellar cools down for winter. Then, put the wine in your mouth and this really is majestic. Some fruit starts slowly to emerge on the nose too, very deep red purple, roses in full bloom, ripe but perfectly balanced, a juiciness and a mineral thread together, quintessence of strawberry but so much else besides. Many delicate waves of flavour which push on to an exceptionally persistent finish. Experience suggests that the wine may go to sleep for quite a few years after bottling, but at this point it is a brilliant example of one of Burgundy’s greatest vineyards. Barrel Sample: 96-100
