2019 clusel roch, cote rotie, les grandes places
Why We're Buying
Domaine Clusel-Roch might be small at 3.5 hectares, but its flagship wine is nothing short of fierce. The syrah has a burst of vivacious and vigor, making the wine an increasingly popular investment in Côte Rôtie.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The intense, tannic 2019 Cote Rotie les Grandes Places—from vines planted in 1935, 1960 and 1984—needs lots of time to come into a more pleasurable state of drinkability. It's full-bodied, concentrated, dense and tannic, but it shows promising notes of grilled plums and salted licorice on a long, long finish. It's a terrible effort, but one that will require serious patience. Drink date 2027-2040.
