Why We're Buying
Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon doesn't get the attention it deserves. That's even though it has an ultra-ripe body with plush tannins, intoxicating aromas, and a lengthy finish. After trying the 2017 vintage, wine critic Jeb Dunnuck wrote, "This cuvée is too often underrated and I think it's one of the most classy, balanced, high quality Cabernets coming from the valley."

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a powerful, explosive wine that is going to need a number of years to be at its finest. The energy and raw intensity are so pronounced. Inky dark fruit, spice, menthol, licorice and cedar add striking aromatic nuance, but it is the wine's phenomenal balance that stands out most. This is the first vintage that includes component wine aged in amphora. This is far from an easygoing 2018. Drink: 2024-2043.
