Why We're Buying

For a small vineyard, Snowden Brothers knows how to deliver big flavors. Its Cabernet Sauvignon captures the signature terroir with a deft mixture of blackberries, blueberries, cedar, cloves, and sage. Recently, Wine Spectator named the 2016 vintage one of its Top 100 wines.

Another fine performance from one of Napa Valley's stalwart wineries, the 2014 Snowden Brothers Vineyard plays up nicely, with is fresh and frisky red currant aromas and flavors. The wine's brightness pair it equally well with a roast chicken or a grilled steak. (Tasted: October 30, 2017, San Francisco, CA)

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot. This is a beauty and clearly the star of the red wine portfolio. Dense purple, with loads of cassis, blackberry, licorice and graphite, the wine hits the palate with considerable authority, impressive purity and only a hint of new oak (only 45% new barriques were utilized ). The finish was long, full-bodied and silky. This can be drunk now, or cellared for 20-25 years.
