Why We're Buying
Alsace doesn't get as much love as Burgundy, Bordeaux, or Champagne. Domaine Weinbach is working to change that with Pinot Gris Altenbourg Quintessence de Grains Nobles. The dessert wine has an opulent complexion that balances richness and depth with energy and sweetness. According to Wine-Searcher.com, it's the second most expensive wine from Alsace and one of the five most well-regarded by critics.

Robert parker's Wine Advocate
The 2017 Alsace Pinot Gris Altenbourg Selection de Grain Nobles Quintessence is spicy and very clear on the nose, with perfectly ripe pineapple aromas. Intense and refined on the palate, this is a very aromatic, elegant and salty Gewurtz with stunning, almost Riesling-like finesse. A great wine.
