Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux has an attractive nose of brambly red berry fruit, briary and forest floor - broody at first but opening in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, a bit coarse at the moment, but there is good substance and it will meld together by the time of bottling. Maybe I was expecting a little more complexity and terroir-expression on the finish, which is why I remain prudent with my mark.
