2018 domaine meo camuzet, nuits-saint-georges
Why We're Buying
Meo-Camuzet Nuits-Saint-Georges comes from "le Bas de Combes," a 1.5-acre plot that borders Vosne- Romanée. The proximity means this pinot noir shares a lot of characteristics with its legendary neighbor. That includes a multi-layered complexion, remarkable balance, and consistent critical praise.
Critics Scores
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges derives from parcels in Au Bas de Combes, Aux Athées and La Petite Charmotte. Offering up a deep-pitched bouquet of sweet berry fruit, spices, rose petals and dark chocolate, it's medium to full-bodied, elegant and perfumed, with an enveloping core of fruit, powdery tannins and good length on the finish. This is a fine bottling that will be comparatively accessible young this year.

A riper and darker fruited nose speaks of black cherry, raspberry, cassis, spice and a touch of earth. The very rich and pliant medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate volume as well as very good length on the firm, youthfully austere and moderately rustic finale. At least some patience advised.
