Why We're Buying
Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé is the yin to Clos des Goisses’ yang. The vintage cuvée from Philipponnat features pinkberry fruit, water lily, and brioche flavors with well-balanced acidity and sweetness. The $300+ bottle of Champagne consistently ranks as one of the most expensive wines from the Champagne Rosé appellation.

Vinous
The 2005 Clos des Goisses Rosé is gracious, feminine and lifted in style. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries and mint all blossom in the glass. An intensely saline finish gives the 2005 its sense of energy and direction. Once again, the Clos des Goisses Rosé is completely different in style from the straight Clos des Goisses. In fact, the connection between the two wines is not at all perceptible. Here, Charles Philipponnat is clearly going for a lighter style based of Rosé that is meant to be drunk on the young side. The Rosé is made by adding 6-7 still Pinot to the straight Clos des Goisses base blend. Dosage is 4.5 grams/liter.
