11. Muscat

The Muscat grape varietal is one of the oldest grapes in France. Its origins date back to ancient Rome and Greece, and the vines were first planted along the Mediterranean coast near the fishing port, Sete.

This white grape has about 200 varieties, but only three main Moscato grape varietals are used in the making of  sweet wine and sparkling wine:

12. Riesling

14. Muller-Thurgau
